Fire Pits Brisbane FAQ

The Brisbane City Council has released some updated regulations on having a backyard fire pit or fire pit bowl, and has recently relaxed the fire ban for winter. We have written an in-depth article on having a fire pit in Brisbane and the fire pit laws, but as always, be sure to check with your local council website to confirm that’s its OK to have a fire pit in your suburb.

One of the key factors with owning a fire pit here in Brisbane is to make sure that your burning material does not cause a smoke nuisance or impact neighbours in a negative way. Keeping the smoke to a minimum by using dry wood or charcoal ( never burn treated wood or garden waste as these create a lot of smoke and flames! ) and keeping the fire pit away from your property boundary will go a long way to reducing the safety risk and smoke impact.

Of course, always check the Brisbane City Council website for up to date details of restrictions or a total fire ban before lighting your fire pit.

When assembled, our fire pits are very generous in size and capable of holding a very significant fire. They are the perfect way to cook food or keep warm in winter. The measurements are 55cm wide at the top edge and 48cm high from the ground.

Because we hand-cut each and every product we produce, the usual delivery time is approximately 3-4 weeks. We then pack our fire pits and ship to any location in Australia. If you are located in Brisbane or the wider South East Queensland region, then delivery can often be much faster.

Our laser cutter is very high quality and can produce almost any type of logo or design that you may want. We do suggest that you choose large, bold designs on your fire pit as these tend to look better, especially when you have a fire inside.

Our large square fire pit comes with a single unique design on all four sides, but you can also have a different design for each side as well. We are able to provide your fire pit with a blank side ( ie no design cut out ) however we usually don’t recommend this as reducing the air flow to the fire can increase the chance of causing a smoke nuisance that might impact neighbours.

Having a good airflow and using only dry wood can reduce the smoke to almost zero and provide the best warmth, and is the best practice to avoid run-ins with your local council.

Check out our guide on how to choose on designing a fire pit.

Assembled, the fire pit weighs about 30kgs, as it is constructed with 4mm heavy-duty steel. When flat-packed, each side only weighs just over 3kg, making it easy to transport.

The MAX Fire Pits unique ‘locking base’ system is the only one of its type on the market and allows you to lift the fire pit by the handles ( once cooled, of course! ) and move it to mow or relocate to a covered area.

Each of our fire pits is individually wrapped and sent by courier in two seperate packages, each weighing around 15kg. Packed in layers of bubble wrap and cardboard protective layers, the fire pits are well protected in transit.

We do lots of company logo orders for Brisbane-based companies. Our range of Australian made fire pits make the perfect Christmas gifts for your most valued customers and really stands out from the crowd.

Corporate gift orders are our speciality, so get in touch with us and we can help you stand out from the crowd.
